After spending so much time cooped up at home, and with the kids out of school for the summer, it’s no surprise if you’re looking ways to have a bit of fun near home. At Orchard Ridge, residents can take a walk along the nearly two miles of trails, visit the Community Gardens or take a dip in the upscale pool to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors. But when you want something a little different, there are tons of options in and around Liberty Hill, thanks to the convenient location just north of Austin. Here are just a few options that are great for both kids and kids-at-heart to have a blast near Orchard Ridge!
- Nearby Parks
Liberty Hill has two different community parks to explore – Lions Foundation Park and Liberty Hill City Park. Head on over for a nice change of pace and let the kids roller blade or scooter along the sidewalks, partake in a family game of soccer or frisbee, or explore the Sculpture Park at Lions Foundation Park. - Lake Travis Zipline Adventures
Just about 30 minutes away in Austin, you can find Lake Travis Zipline Adventures, which has the longest and fastest zipline in Texas! Take an exhilarating tour on five different ziplines to get your heart racing. They are currently operating under certain safety guidelines, like required face masks, so make sure to check their website before visiting. - Pioneer Farms
At Pioneer Farms, you can relive authentic Texas History approximately 35 minutes from Orchard Ridge. This 19th century farm is currently open for self-guided tours. Pack a picnic and bring the whole family to explore six different themed historical areas, from a Tonkawa encampment to a rural village. - Exotic Resort Zoo
Ready for a safari adventure? Pack up some snacks and take a mini road trip to the Exotic Resort Zoo, located about an hour from Orchard Ridge. Right now, you can take a drive-through safari in your own car to see wallabies, gazelles, emus and more! - Community Programming
At Orchard Ridge, there are more than just amenities. Our Lifestyle Director plans a year-round calendar of events and activities, and has adapted programming to accommodate current social distancing guidelines. The Photo Club captures beautiful moments around the community to share, and there’s regular contests to see who can bake the best pie or make their porch the most festive.
