Liberty Hill, Texas Moving Tips

Moving Companies

A moving company takes your whole life and puts it onto a single moving truck. That trip is a very big deal, so you need to be working with professional Texas movers!

First, read reviews from various sources, and check candidates with the Texas Department of Consumer Affairs. If you decide to check with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), you should know that it’s a non-profit rather than a governmental agency.

So while the reviews are legitimate, accreditation shouldn’t factor into your decision since it’s something a company pays to get in order to have access to educational resources and marketing materials

Go for a company that’s been in business for many years. That means it’s survived hardship, has a history of honors warranties and contracts, and has references it can provide. If the company won’t give you references, find one that will.

Make sure your estimate is reasonable and binding so that you end up paying what you were told you’d be paying. Get valuation coverage to protect your possessions, and your bill of lading, which is a document you’re legally obligated to receive before any move. Confirm that your moving company has an TxDMV license and active insurance policy as well.

Change Your Address

Update your mailing address with the USPS a week before your move. Your address can be changed. It just takes a credit or debit card.

Driver’s License

You need to get a Texas driver’s license within 90 days of moving to Texas.

Vehicle Registration

Find the vehicle registration information online.

Voter Registration
